Rasashastra & Bhaisajya Kalapana is a subject of Second BAMS which basically deals with the preparation of medicines from various natural sources. Herbo- mineral products are found to be more efficacious in the clinical management. The graduates are trained in manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines in various formulations. The formulations are prepared by utilizing the herbs found in the region of the individual and customize the same based on the need of the health seeker
The pharmacy is attached to with this department and the medicines prepared in it are used in the camps and college hospital.This department also provides practical training of Shodhana, Marana, Pishtikarana etc. of the minerals and teaches the formulations of Kwatha, Vati, Avaleha, Rasakriya etc. The department has a huge collection of mineral / herbo-mineral drugs, charts and models. Periodical visits to other manufacturing ayurvedic pharmacies are arranged for the students.
Our Department feels proud to have qualified and efficient teaching faculty and by their sincere effort every year good quality of Ayurvedic doctors are comming forward to the nation.
Objectives
The aim of this branch is to design formulations that are most potent utilizing metals and minerals in lesser dosage without much emphasis on the constitution of the patient. It deals with formulations to bring them into practice by revalidating it and also modify the preparations based on the current needs and practice. The ocean of traditional formulations is made into newer forms by adopting modern techniques.

- Well equipped laboratory containing various instruments, 56 No. of charts, 46 no. of Models, 75 no. of geologically identified specimen
- Well maintained departmental library containing Books, Dissertations & Journals.
- In house Pharmacy (Rasashala)- Various types of Ayurvedic medicines are prepared at pharmacy.
- Research Laboratory- It is provided with various Modern Analytical Instruments and all research practicals are performed here. The physico-chemical tests of the medicines prepared in our pharmacy are done in the Research laboratory for the purpose of Quality control.

- Organisation of Workshop on Ayurvediya Aushadhi Nirman in 2019-20 for B.A.M.S. students.
- Pharmaceutical study of Parad Shodhana.
- Quality Control Study of Final Products of the Pharmacy.
- Preparation of Kupipakwa Rasayanas & Various Bhasmas inculding Rajata & Mukta bhasma.
- Preparation of Guduchyadi Kashaya, Chavanpras avleha, trikatu, for prevention of covid-19.
- Preparation of Suvarnaprasha Kalpa and active participation in the Suvarnaprashan camp
- We prepare most of ayurvedic medicines in our pharmacy for OPD & IPD.
